The process of transferring a domain from another registrar to us is called a domain transfer. The domain itself remains unchanged: its name, owner, and current registration term remain the same. Only the registrar through which the domain will be managed in the future changes.<\/p>\n
First, you need to register and pay for the domain transfer service.<\/p>\n
After paying for the transfer, you will need to complete several steps with the current registrar where the domain is currently managed.<\/p>\n
First, you need to obtain a domain transfer code. Depending on the domain extension and registrar, this may be called an EPP code, AuthInfo code, authorization code, or transfer code.<\/p>\n
You must obtain this code from your current registrar and provide it to us to initiate the transfer. We recommend copying the code without any changes, extra spaces, or additional characters.<\/p>\n
You should also check whether a transfer lock is enabled on your domain. This feature may have different names depending on your registrar: Transfer Lock, Registrar Lock, Domain Lock, transfer lock, or domain protection.<\/p>\n
If a transfer lock is enabled, you must disable it in your current registrar’s control panel. While the domain is locked for transfer, we will not be able to complete its transfer to us.<\/p>\n
Therefore, to transfer a domain to us, you must:<\/p>\n
1. Accept and pay for the domain transfer.

\n3. Remove the transfer lock, if enabled.
\n4. Provide us with the transfer code.

After receiving the necessary information, we initiate the domain transfer to our registrar.<\/p>\n
The transfer process can take up to 7 business days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The actual time frame depends on the domain extension, the rules of the relevant domain registry, your current registrar, and the speed of the required confirmations. In some cases, the transfer may be completed more quickly, but we recommend estimating a transfer time of up to 7 business days.<\/p>\n During the transfer, the domain remains registered to the current owner. Typically, the website and email will continue to function as usual unless the domain’s DNS servers are changed during the transfer.<\/p>\n After the transfer is successfully completed, the domain will be fully transferred to us, and it will be managed through our system.<\/p>\n After a successful transfer, the domain registration is automatically extended for one year.<\/p>\n This additional year is added to the domain’s current expiration date.<\/p>\n For example, if your domain is valid until October 15, 2023, then after a successful transfer to us, its registration will be extended for an additional year\u2014until October 15, 2024.<\/p>\n This is why the transfer fee can effectively be considered a one-year domain renewal fee. There is no additional fee for the domain transfer process itself. This way, you pay for the transfer, transfer the domain from your current registrar to us, and simultaneously receive a one-year domain registration extension.<\/p>\n Before beginning the process, we recommend ensuring that the domain has no transfer restrictions, the transfer lock is disabled, and the authorization code is available from your current registrar.<\/p>\n Once these conditions are met, the process is quite simple: you pay for the transfer, obtain the code from your current registrar, remove the domain lock, and provide the code to us.
