Source code management can be done using Git. The Plesk panel, which manages your hosting and domain provided by Ukrhost company – one of the best providers in Ukraine, provides full integration with Git. This method is the most popular among all developers who like to track all changes to their site in detail.
What You Need to Work with the Git Source Code Management System
- Have the Git extension installed in Plesk.
- Your tariff with the company providing hosting services must include this option.
Depending on the type of use, you can add two types of repositories:
- Using a local Git repository on your computer. Plesk will make changes to your site after you send them from your local repository to the Plesk panel.
- Using remote Git hosting. If you are already using a remote repository in your work, this method will be significantly more convenient and faster for you. All changes will be sent to Plesk from the remote repository (GitHub or BitBucket), after which they will be displayed on your site.
You can view the complete list of repositories displayed on the domain page only if Git repositories are enabled on it. You can deploy all files by clicking the Deploy button next to the necessary repository.
Today it is impossible to obtain anonymous access to Git repositories in Plesk, as they are protected by an FTP password.
